Dusk and Dawn gives an additional on-hit effect that scales your damage significantly.
Hextech Gunblade provides large Ability Power and a slow active to help land skillshots.
Abyssal Mask offers a cost-effective 12% magic damage increase aura around you.
Champion
Your Vorpal Spikes (E) empowers 3 consecutive attacks to deal % max health magic damage, perfectly matching Press the Attack.
Hextech Gunblade active slow makes landing Rupture (Q) knockups nearly unavoidable.
Abyssal Mask gives tankiness while amplifying your magic damage and Feast (R) execute.
How to play
Dusk and Dawn Cho'Gath
Even when playing off-meta builds like Dusk and Dawn Cho'Gath, it's extremely important to stack Feast (R) (even on minions if you are not going to fight with enemy team). The permanent bonus Health matters in the long run.
Team Compositions & When to Build
Build this primarily when facing multiple tanks or bruisers where percentage health damage shines.
Ensure you have engage champions on your team, as diving in alone without frontline support will get you eliminated quickly.
If the entire enemy team is squishy, avoid this build.
Playstyle & Combos
Use Hextech Gunblade active to slow the enemy first, allowing you to land Vorpal Spikes (E) more consistently.
Trigger Press the Attack quickly with auto-attacks and Rupture (Q) to apply the 8% damage increase.
Items
Rush Dusk and Dawn first for the core on-hit scaling, followed by Hextech Gunblade and Abyssal Mask.
If enemy tanks build heavy Magic Resistance, rush Void Staff as your 4th item. Void Staff is preferred over Cryptbloom due to higher raw Ability Power.
If the enemy is not building Magic Resistance, build Rabadon's Deathcap before Void Staff.
In late game or when very rich, Abyssal Mask can be replaced with Shadowflame or other high-AP items.
Runes
Press the Attack is ideal for quick burst trades; Conqueror and Grasp of the Undying take too long to stack in all-in skirmishes.
Tips and Tricks
Champion
Skill Order
Universal skill order for Cho'Gath: max Q for push/poke/healing, max W for fights, max E versus lots of melee champs in an enemy team.
Peeling
You can be a great peeler for your carries if needed. Keep an eye for them and save Rupture (Q), Feral Scream (W) and Feast (R) for enemy divers/assasins.
Rupture (Q)
If you want to elevate your game and hit more Rupture (Q), pretend to look other way while using it on your target. Face other direction, change angles, face backwards. Enemies won't expect you using Rupture (Q) on them.
If you have reliable CC on your team, you can coordinate and land surefire Rupture (Q).
If enemy has tons of mobility abilities. silence them first with Feral Scream (W) then try landing Rupture (Q).
Feral Scream (W)
Keep Feral Scream (W) for priority targets. Enemy team has champions that dive and go in? Keep W for them.
Vorpal Spikes (E)
Vorpal Spikes (E) is auto attack reset. You can use it to squeeze out an extra auto in fights and push turrets faster.
Slow makes you Rupture (Q) much easier to land. Land E auto first, then throw Rupture (Q) while they are slowed. Much harder for them to dodge.
Feast (R)
Do not wait for 'special moment' to use your Feast (R) early on. It is OK to just stack it on minions to get more survivability.
If you are not playing a tank or support version, consider not eating siege minions - it is more gold for your carries, and they need gold more than you do!
Riot
Try to line up your attacks with Vorpal Spikes so that they kill minions and harass enemy champions at the same time.
If you're having difficulty feasting upon champions, try eating minions until you're larger.
Using Rupture on creeps in combination with Carnivore is a good way to gain Health and Mana.
