Notes

  1. Updated for League of Legends Patch 14.2

How it works

  1. You're a healer, Harry.
  2. You heal/shield with Heal summoner spell, Redemption, Locket of the Iron Solari and Moonstone Renewer.
  3. Ingenious Hunter rune from a Domination tree is a must-have. It reduces the cooldown of all your items.
  4. Hecarim has +20% Healing in ARAM, which makes all healing effects (Redemption or Font of Life included) extra efficient!

How to play

  1. Your first rush is Redemption. Your second rush is either Locket of the Iron Solari or Moonstone Renewer.
  2. Rush second Locket if your team already doing teamfights or when an enemy team has champions with super aoe damage (example: like Fiddle's ult). Otherwise, get Moonstone Renewer #2. The third item should be whatever you did not buy - Locket of the Iron Solari or Moonstone Renewer. That's your core.
  3. Try to use Redemption on cooldown, when your allies are missing some health. It is best to use when they are grouped. Especially if you already have Moonstone Renewer, it is best to wait (or ping) until they group together, so you can have them all healed.
  4. Try to use summoner spell Heal on cooldown. With Moonstone, ideally there should be at least two people for maximum healing effect.
  5. Remember that you can use Redemption for the damage. However, in general, it is not worth it. Keep it to heal your team!
  6. Later in the game, for maximum support - you can sell boots for sixth item.
  7. You can get items like Ardent Censer (some auto attackers needed) or Staff of Flowing Water. It will be triggered often enough that it will be worth.
  8. You will be applying Font of Life mark, which will heal your allies. It also chains off Moonstone Renewer!
  9. Be careful when using Redemption while you are dead, and you are about to be respawned. The camera will go to your position, and you can cast it in the spawning pool by mistake. Watch out for bad timing!
  10. Font of Life total healing is not properly calculated in a post-game lobby. Value is bigger in the game vs. what's displayed in statistics. You heal more!
  11. You can be a fantastic peeler. Enemies going after your carry? Stay close to your buddy and knock intruders back with your Devastating Charge (E) or fear them with your ultimate - Onslaught of Shadows (R).
  12. You have really great sustain. Just pop Spirit of Dread (W) in a wave of minions or in fights to get more tanky and get HP back. With this, you can soak damage pretty well for your team and heal back up very quickly.
  13. Even as a Support, you can initiate great fights with your Devastating Charge (E) and Onslaught of Shadows (R). R is also great for disrupting fights. Look for opportunities!
  14. You have really good scare tactics. Just use E and run around. People will be intimidated that you are going to Ult them.

Tips and Tricks

General
  1. You can use W before taking portal (frost-gate). You will be damaging everyone on your path during travel. Especially effective, if you are playing AP Hecarim build!
  2. Engage combo: pop Devastating Charge (E), use Onslaught of Shadows (R) on an enemy team, position yourself with movement speed buff from E behind your target and E him into your team.
Riot
  1. Spirit of Dread restores Health when nearby enemies take damage, including damage dealt by allies. Cast this during a large fight to maximize Hecarim's survivability.
  2. Devastating Charge deals more damage based on the distance traveled. Try using Onslaught of Shadows or Summoner Spells such as Ghost or Flash to maximize this damage.
