How it works

  2. You build around high percentage health damage from your abilities and on-hit procs.
  3. Dusk and Dawn gives an additional on-hit effect that scales your damage significantly.
  4. Hextech Gunblade provides large Ability Power and a slow active to help land skillshots.
  5. Abyssal Mask offers a cost-effective 12% magic damage increase aura around you.

Champion

  1. Your Grandmaster-at-Arms (R) passive magic damage proc every 3rd attack accelerates with Dusk and Dawn.
  2. An AA into Empower (W) auto reset instantly triggers Press the Attack with massive magic burst.
  3. Hextech Gunblade provides hybrid stats, and Abyssal Mask amplifies all your magic burst.

How to play

Dusk and Dawn Jax

  1. As Jax playing Dusk and Dawn, your skill order depends on a situation. In general, max Empower (W) for damage. Against ranged or for reach, max Leap Strike (Q). Against heavy melee or lots of auto attackers, max Counter Strike (E).
  2. You can use Hextech Rocketbelt either or engage (E + Hextech Rocketbelt + Q to go in), or to run away after your Q + E combo.

Team Compositions & When to Build

  2. Build this primarily when facing multiple tanks or bruisers where percentage health damage shines.
  3. Ensure you have engage champions on your team, as diving in alone without frontline support will get you eliminated quickly.
  4. If the entire enemy team is squishy, avoid this build.

Playstyle & Combos

  2. Use Hextech Gunblade active to slow the enemy first, allowing you to land Counter Strike (E) more consistently.
  3. Trigger Press the Attack quickly with auto-attacks and Leap Strike (Q) to apply the 8% damage increase.

Items

  2. Rush Dusk and Dawn first for the core on-hit scaling, followed by Hextech Gunblade and Abyssal Mask.
  3. If enemy tanks build heavy Magic Resistance, rush Void Staff as your 4th item. Void Staff is preferred over Cryptbloom due to higher raw Ability Power.
  4. If the enemy is not building Magic Resistance, build Rabadon's Deathcap before Void Staff.
  5. In late game or when very rich, Abyssal Mask can be replaced with Shadowflame or other high-AP items.

Runes

  2. Press the Attack is ideal for quick burst trades; Conqueror and Grasp of the Undying take too long to stack in all-in skirmishes.

Tips and Tricks

Riot

  1. Jax can Leap Strike to friendly units, including wards. You can use them to plan your escape.
  2. Jax benefits greatly from items that have both Ability Power and Attack Damage such as Guinsoo's Rageblade and Hextech Gunblade.
