How it works

  1. You rush Iceborn Gauntlet.
  2. You play as Tank, but with focus on kiting the enemy team and utility for your team.
  3. You disrupt fights with CC, soak damage, peel off your carries or initiate for your team.

How to play

Iceborn Gauntlet Locke

  1. Silver Stake (Passive) still deals OK bonus magic damage even when building off-meta.

Getting started

  1. You rush Iceborn Gauntlet #1, then you need to adapt your items to the game. Enemy team heavy on AP? Buy MR. They heavy on AD? Buy Armor. You need some damage? Well buy that.
  2. You can build Imperial Mandate #2 if you have reliable hard CC to immobilize targets and make them Vulnerable (so your team have more dmg).

During fights

  1. There's great synergy between Iceborn Gauntlet and Font of Life. You create frozen pools that will persist for a few seconds, slowing enemies and applying Font of Life heal marks for your allies.

Items

  1. For more utility oriented build, you can get Locket of the Iron Solari (sustain) or Shurelya's Battlesong (engages).

Runes

  1. Triumph rune is better overall (heal and gold), but if you want to have easier time with your mana, go Presence of Mind.
  2. Remember to consume your Grasp of the Undying procs!

Tips and Tricks

Champion

Soul Ignition
Soul Ignition (W)

  1. The heal at the end is based on damage taken, so activate it right before a trade starts, not after it’s over. The movement speed is also good for dodging skillshots.
  2. You can cast it while under CC.
  3. Soul Ignition (W) gives you Attack Speed and Move Speed, but it costs you health. Save the activation for when you are going all in - the end-of-duration heal rewards you for fighting through it.

  1. If you get a champion takedown while it’s active, the cooldown resets and you can cast it again even though it’s already active.

Purgatory
Purgatory (R)

  1. Every champion you execute with Purgatory (R) makes you permanently stronger. Prioritize securing kills with it.
