How it works

General

  1. You support your team by providing healing, shielding and various buffs.
  2. You rush Moonstone Renewer.
  3. You can peel from your carries with Exhaust.

How to play

General

Starter items

  1. Start with Tear of the Goddess and Bandleglass Mirror. Rush Moonstone first, then get Diadem of Songs second. Then adapt.
  2. Keep stacking your Tear! The sooner you get it, the sooner you can start healing your team and providing additional sustain.

Adaptation

  1. Your team needs to engage or position? Get items like Shurelya's Battlesong or Trailblazer.
  2. Your team getting poked to death? Consider getting Redemption AND/OR Locket of the Iron Solari next.
  3. If you are just getting poked and cannot manage to stay alive - get Kaenic Rookern or Warmog's Armor (caution: needs enough HP!)
  4. You have tanks, bruisers and your team lack damage? As a last resort, you can buy few items to even help with that!

Countering

  1. Remember to counter an enemy team. For example, if they have lots of healing, get Oblivion Orb early.

Buffing your team

  1. If your team has a lot of AP scaling champs, you can get Staff of the Flowing Water.
  2. If your team has a lot of auto attackers AND/OR melee champs, get Ardent Censer.
  3. If your team has a lot of auto attacks, you can also get Bandlepipes to increase their attack speed.

Tips and Tricks

Champion

  1. You can use Lucent Singularity (E) for scouting and bush control.
  2. Lux is great at countering pushes. You can use Lucent Singularity (E) to stop enemy minions from afar, and you can clear them with E + Final Spark (R) if needed.
  3. If you are playing more support oriented Lux, you can be more useful to not detonate your Lucent Singularity (E) instantly - it keeps applying AoE slow triggering Font of Life effect as well as items like Imperial Mandate.
  4. Look for enemies that are hiding behind a single minion. You can catch unsuspecting enemies with your Light Binding (Q) (second part).

Riot

  1. Lux has great zone control abilities. Try to set up Lucent Singularity to prevent an enemy's advance or escape.
  2. If you have trouble landing Prismatic Barrier, remember that it returns to you after it reaches max range. Try positioning yourself to hit your allies with its return trip.
  3. Lucent Singularity is a great scouting tool. Try throwing it into brush before walking into it to check for ambushes.
