Heal

Good option if you want extra healing and sustain for your team. Provides movement speed burst and can be used in clutch situations.

Exhaust

Exhaust

Defensive option. Exhaust for more peel and protection against enemy divers and assassins.

Ignite

Ignite

Offensive option and fun button to press. Reduces your going-in potential, but adds some damage and Grievious Wounds for enemy healing. Good to score some kills early.

How it works

  1. As Nautilus playing a Support, your main goal is to soak up damage while protecting your carries.
  2. You offer excellent crowd control and peel, making it harder for the enemy team to reach your backline.
  3. Adapt your playstyle depending on your team's needs: either engage and start fights, or sit back and peel for your carries.
  4. Make sure to counter enemy team. Itemize defensively based on the main damage type of the enemy team.

How to play

Adaptation

  1. If your team needs engage, go Trailblazer and Shurelya's Battlesong.
  2. Your team getting poked to death? Consider getting Redemption AND/OR Locket of the Iron Solari next.
  3. If your team needs peel, go Knight's Vow and Locket of the Iron Solari.
  4. Knight's Vow is a surprisingly good item. Buy it and use it if you have carry or bruiser/fighter who is doing well.
  5. You need to adapt your items to the game. Enemy team heavy on AP? Buy MR. They heavy on AD? Buy Armor. You need some damage? Well buy that.

Buffing your team

  1. Bandlepipes is a great utility item for engaging and buffing your auto attackers when you CC enemies.

Runes

  1. Be careful to not waste Aftershock. Try timing it and keeping it for going in.

Items

  1. Remember that every single one of your abilities (except W) has some slow/CC to proc Fimbulwinter.
    • Sometimes you might want to hold on using abilities. For example, to not use Riptide (E) beforehand to keep Fimbulwinter proc for actual fight.

Tips and Tricks

Champion

Staggering Blow (Passive)

  1. Switch targets often in fights to fully use your Staggering Blow (Passive) for maximum damage and CC!

Dredge Line (Q)

  1. Hook through dying minions - time your Dredge Line (Q) to pass through a minion as it dies to surprise enemies hiding behind wave.

Riot

  1. While ganking, consider aiming Dredge Line at nearby terrain and following it up with Riptide for a higher hit rate.
  2. Riptide has a delayed blast timing on activation - you can use this while running away or when enemies are incoming to serve as a deterrent.
