How it works

  1. This build is all about Imperial Mandate and immobilizing your enemies.
  2. You support your team through disrupting fights, locking down enemies with CC, making them Vulnerable so they take more damage, and providing healing/buffs.

How to play

Imperial Mandate Orianna

  1. You will be supporting your allies with your E (Shield, Armor/MR), Movement Speed Buff and Debuff, various Items and CC from your R.
  2. You can even heal your allies thanks to Font of Life and Moonstone Renewer combo. Heals from Font of Life being triggered from your W, R (or even all abilities, if you buy Rylai's Crystal Scepter - it works very good on Orianna!)
  3. Knight's Vow works exceptionally well. Stay close to your partner.
  4. Keep track of your ball. Sometimes it makes sense to keep it most of the time on the tank or whoever is engaging.

Core

  1. Your core item is Imperial Mandate, which grants Ability Haste to your immobilizing abilities and marks immobilized targets Vulnerable, so they receive more damage from you and your team.

Runes

  1. Your CC triggers Glacial Augment and Imperial Mandate, slowing the area and making targets Vulnerable.

How Imperial Mandate works

  1. Imperial Mandate grants additional Ability Haste to your immobilizing abilities. Immobilizing an enemy marks them as Vulnerable, causing them to take increased damage from all sources, from you and your team.

Buffing your team

  1. Font of Life heal triggers various support items like Ardent Censer, Staff of Flowing Water or even Moonstone Renewer!
  2. If your team needs sustain, you can even get Diadem of Songs.
  3. If your team has auto attackers, get Ardent Censer. Your Font of Life will buff them constantly.
  4. Bandlepipes is excellent - gives MS and buffs allies' attack speed when you CC/slow enemies.
  5. Staff of Flowing Water is a good item if you have lots of AP scaling champions on the team.

Adaptation

  1. Enemy team heavy on AP? Buy MR items like Kaenic Rookern or Spirit Visage.
  2. Enemy team heavy on AD? Buy Armor items like Thornmail or Randuin's Omen.
  3. Your team lacks damage? You can buy damage items - Liandry's Torment or Blackfire Torch work well.

Tips and Tricks

Champion

  1. You can use Command: Attack (Q) for brush control.
  2. Remember your ball has travel time. The further it gets, the longer it travels to you. You can always walk out of tether distance to make it automatically appear on you.
  3. Cool combo: you can use Command: Shockwave (R) then Flash into enemies for instant CC!

Riot

  1. Command: Protect can be used on yourself to return the Ball back to you quickly. Combine this with Command: Attack for a quick harassment.
  2. Command: Dissonance is a very powerful escape tool if Orianna has the Ball. The combination of speed and leaving a slowing obstacle can be quite powerful.
  3. Command: Shockwave can be used to drag enemies towards you or away from you if you position the Ball properly.
