Notes

General

  1. This build is about throwing shields and that Captain America feel. If you are interested in going in and 100-0 enemies squishes,, go check other Poppy build.

How it works

General

  1. You build 100% crit, lots of AD and some attack speed.
  2. You play as carry for your team

Champion

  1. This build is all about shield throwing from your Iron Ambassador (Passive) and feeling like Captain America.
  2. Your play around your Iron Ambassador (Passive). You wait for it, stack every effect and on hit item you have and fire!
  3. First Strike version is more fun and rewarding to play. If you want to play safe, play with Dark Harvest instead.

How to play

General

  1. Poppy ADC build with 100% crit. You go AD, Attack Speed and of course... Crit!
  2. Usually good rush item is The Collector.
  3. Don't rush Infinity Edge. Usually go for it as #2 or #3 item.
  4. Counter enemy team. If they have lots of tanks or start stacking Armor, rush Lord Dominik's Regards.

Champion

  1. Wait for your Iron Ambassador (Passive) and First Strike. Make sure your all items are proc (use Steadfast Presence (W) to prep) and throw the shield!
  2. You poke from distance with your combo. You don't typically go in or initiate.
  3. However, sometimes you can go in with Heroic Charge (E) + Hammer Shock (Q) + couple of auto attacks + Keeper's Verdict (R) + Q to do tons of damage and rob a bank with First Strike (tons of money as well!). You need to find right moment to do it, so you don't focused and die instantly.
  4. Use Hammer Shock (Q) to last hit to not waste passive proc.
  5. Be careful to not get poked, because you waste First Strike procs.

Tips and Tricks

Champion

  1. Thanks to Iron Ambassador (Passive) and Steadfast Presence (W), you are tanky. You get even tankier below 40% maximum health — don't hesitate in clutch moments; that's when you're at your toughest.
  2. You are awesome peeler. You can do it super well for carries (especially when playing off-meta roles)
    • Long Keeper's Verdict (R) can knock enemies away, short Keeper's Verdict (R) can knock them in the air.
    • Steadfast Presence (W) grounds and knocks enemies up if they are dashing for your carry.
    • Heroic Charge (E) carries enemy and stuns them.

Iron Ambassador (Passive)

  1. If you kill minion with your Iron Ambassador (Passive), shield gets back to you and you gain shield immediately (you don't need to pick it up). Use this for your advantage.
  2. Remember to pick shield from Iron Ambassador (Passive) as often as possible! It prevents tons of poke and lets you play more aggressively.
  3. Your Iron Ambassador (Passive) count as ranged attack, which means some runes and items will give you an effect as if you were ranged champion. For example: Grasp of the Undying - less heal, less Health, less dmg. Hubris - less ad. First Strike - less gold.

Steadfast Presence (W)

  1. Do not use W too early. Enemies will hold anticipating your W. The more you wait, the more pressure you put on them (for example, they cannot go for your carry right away).

Heroic Charge (E)

  1. You can use Heroic Charge (E) as escaping tool as well! Target minions or enemies that are far away to escape.
  2. You can use E to pick up your shield!
  3. You can stun enemies by using Heroic Charge (E) against champion-created walls and terrain!

Riot

  1. Iron Ambassador tends to land near walls, try to take advantage of this with Heroic Charge.
  2. Keeper's Verdict can be released immediately to send the enemy straight up, take advantage of this in duels.
