Optional Summoner Spells
Ghost
Ghost for extra and mobility and chasing and disruptive running around in fights. Good alternative if you want to stay close to enemies.
Exhaust
Defensive option. Exhaust for peeling against enemy divers and assassins and protecting your carries.
Ignite
Offensive option if you are feeling spicy. Grievous Wounds + some damage. Good in early fights and you can score some kills, but reduces your going-in potential. Especially later.
Optional Runes
Grasp of the Undying
Grasp of the Undying is a solid alternative. You become more tanky over time as your HP grows, you get some sustain and you get some damage as well.
Presence of Mind
Triumph is better overall (heal + gold), but if you want to have easier time with your mana, go Presence of Mind.
Demolish
If you are into taking objectives, you can consider taking Demolish rune. Usually it is worth it and lets you push turrets quicker. Utility slash team oriented option.
How it works
- You play as a Tank.
- Your job is to soak damage, disrupt fights, protect your team, and be a pain in the neck for the enemy.
Playstyle
- Be the front wall. Soak damage, disrupt enemies, protect your carries. 🛡️
- Jak'Sho rewards you for staying in fights - don't run away! 💪
- Adapt items to counter the enemy team composition. 🎯
How to play
Getting started
- Start with Guardian's Horn. Rush #1 Armor item if enemy is heavy on AD, or MR item if heavy on AP. Get Jak'Sho as #2.
- Guardian's Horn is a surprisingly good item for its price. You can keep it for very long time (or even have it as 6th item).
During fights
- Your goal is to be in the middle of fights as long as possible - Jak'Sho stacks up with combat seconds.
Adapting
- You need to adapt your items to the game. Enemy team heavy on AP? Buy MR. They heavy on AD? Buy Armor. You need some damage? Well buy that.
- You can use Bandlepipes to give your whole team an attack speed boost whenever you CC enemies. Great synergy with auto attackers.
Runes
- Triumph is better overall (heal + gold), but if you want to have easier time with your mana, go Presence of Mind.
- Be careful to not waste Aftershock. Save it for when you go in or when enemies jump on you.
Tips and Tricks
Champion
- Thanks to Iron Ambassador (Passive) and Steadfast Presence (W), you are tanky. You get even tankier below 40% maximum health - don't hesitate in clutch moments; that's when you're at your toughest.
- You are awesome peeler. You can do it super well for carries (especially when playing off-meta roles)
- Long Keeper's Verdict (R) can knock enemies away, short Keeper's Verdict (R) can knock them in the air.
- Steadfast Presence (W) grounds and knocks enemies up if they are dashing for your carry.
- Heroic Charge (E) carries enemy and stuns them.
Iron Ambassador (Passive)
- If you kill minion with your Iron Ambassador (Passive), shield gets back to you and you gain shield immediately (you don't need to pick it up). Use this for your advantage.
- Remember to pick shield from Iron Ambassador (Passive) as often as possible! It prevents tons of poke and lets you play more aggressively.
- Your Iron Ambassador (Passive) count as ranged attack, which means some runes and items will give you an effect as if you were ranged champion. For example: Grasp of the Undying - less heal, less Health, less dmg. Hubris - less ad. First Strike - less gold.

Steadfast Presence (W)
- Do not use W too early. Enemies will hold anticipating your W. The more you wait, the more pressure you put on them (for example, they cannot go for your carry right away).
Heroic Charge (E)
- You can use Heroic Charge (E) as escaping tool as well! Target minions or enemies that are far away to escape.
- You can use E to pick up your shield!
- You can stun enemies by using Heroic Charge (E) against champion-created walls and terrain!
Riot
- Iron Ambassador tends to land near walls, try to take advantage of this with Heroic Charge.
- Keeper's Verdict can be released immediately to send the enemy straight up, take advantage of this in duels.
