How it works

  1. This build is all about Imperial Mandate and immobilizing your enemies.
  2. You support your team through disrupting fights, locking down enemies with CC, making them Vulnerable so they take more damage, and providing healing/buffs.

Champion

How to play

Imperial Mandate Ryze

Imperial Mandate

  1. Using empowered Rune Prison (W) on enemy roots them and procs Imperial Mandate, making them Vulnerable so you and your team do more dmg to them.
  2. Imperial Mandate also gives additional Ability Haste on Rune Prison (W), lowering its cooldown so you can catch enemies more often.

Core

  1. Your core item is Imperial Mandate, which grants Ability Haste to your immobilizing abilities and marks immobilized targets Vulnerable, so they receive more damage from you and your team.

Runes

  1. Your CC triggers Glacial Augment and Imperial Mandate, slowing the area and making targets Vulnerable.

How Imperial Mandate works

  1. Imperial Mandate grants additional Ability Haste to your immobilizing abilities. Immobilizing an enemy marks them as Vulnerable, causing them to take increased damage from all sources, from you and your team.

Buffing your team

  1. Font of Life heal triggers various support items like Ardent Censer, Staff of Flowing Water or even Moonstone Renewer!
  2. If your team needs sustain, you can even get Diadem of Songs.
  3. If your team has auto attackers, get Ardent Censer. Your Font of Life will buff them constantly.
  4. Bandlepipes is excellent - gives MS and buffs allies' attack speed when you CC/slow enemies.
  5. Staff of Flowing Water is a good item if you have lots of AP scaling champions on the team.

Adaptation

  1. Enemy team heavy on AP? Buy MR items like Kaenic Rookern or Spirit Visage.
  2. Enemy team heavy on AD? Buy Armor items like Thornmail or Randuin's Omen.
  3. Your team lacks damage? You can buy damage items - Liandry's Torment or Blackfire Torch work well.

Tips and Tricks

Champion

  1. Your Realm Warp (R) is a very flexible ability. You can use it for engagement, to catch people off, to run away, to bait enemies, to scare them off. Do not wait for 'special moment' to use it!

Riot

  1. Use Overload's passive to optimize for maximum damage or maximum speed.
  2. Spell Flux's short cooldown allows it to be used to spread Flux to many enemies.
  3. Ryze can move and cast other spells while Realm Warp is charging without cancelling the portal.
