How it works

  1. This build is all about Imperial Mandate and slowing your enemies.
  2. You support your team through disrupting fights, slowing enemies, providing healing/buffs, and soaking damage.

Playstyle

  1. ❄️

Disrupt fights with slows and CC.

  2. 🎯

Proc Imperial Mandate and support your allies.

  3. 🧰

Adapt to the game and get items to counter enemy team.

How to play

Imperial Mandate Swain

Stacking

  1. Even when playing off-meta builds, it's extremely important to collect Soul Fragments to permanently increase your maximum Health, it is gonna benefit you in the long run.
  1. You rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter first, then Imperial Mandate second.
  2. Your CC triggers Glacial Augment that slows AOE. All Slows trigger Font of Life AND Imperial Mandate, healing and buffing your allies.

How Imperial Mandate works

  1. Imperial Mandate requires your TEAM to proc it for damage. Try coordinating it with your allies - mark targets when they're about to get poked or when your team goes in.

Buffing your team

  1. Font of Life heal triggers various support items like Ardent Censer, Staff of Flowing Water or even Moonstone Renewer!
  2. If your team needs sustain, you can even get Diadem of Songs.
  3. If your team has auto attackers, get Ardent Censer. Your Font of Life will buff them constantly.
  4. Bandlepipes is excellent - gives MS and buffs allies' attack speed when you CC/slow enemies.
  5. Staff of Flowing Water is good item if you have lots of AP scaling champions on the team.

Adaptation

  1. Enemy team heavy on AP? Buy MR items like Kaenic Rookern or Spirit Visage.
  2. Enemy team heavy on AD? Buy Armor items like Thornmail or Randuin's Omen.
  3. Your team lacks damage? You can buy damage items - Liandry's Torment or Blackfire Torch work well.

Tips and Tricks

Champion

Ravenous Flock (Passive)

  1. Remember to pay attention and collect Soul Fragments to permanently increase your maximum Health, especially after fights.

Vision of Empire (W)

  1. You can use Vision of Empire (W) to stop enemies taking portal (frost-gate). Time it well, and they will need to walk, and you will get the turret!
  2. Vision of Empire (W) trick works even better with all DoTs effects (Liandry's Anguish and Demonic Embrace).

Nevermove (E)

  1. Did you just catch someone with your Nevermove (E)? Do not use second E right away, but use it at the very last moment for maximum CC.
  2. After you catch someone with your Nevermove (E), you can set up Vision of Empire (W) for a certain hit.

Demonic Ascension (R)

  1. Enemies in your base? Use Demonic Ascension (R) before taking portal (frost-gate), this way you damage everyone on your way.

Riot

  1. If you're having trouble rooting an enemy with Nevermove, try throwing it at opponents when they are near their minions so the explosion surprises them.
  2. While laning, try to use Death's Hand's piercing damage to damage opponents from a safe distance.
  3. Vision of Empire is quite difficult to land on its own, look for skirmishes around the map where enemies may be distracted or crowd controlled so you can land it more easily.
  4. Demonic Ascension may make Swain very hard to kill but he's pretty easy to get away from. Try building items that can slow opponents to keep them in range if their mobility is overwhelming.
