How it works

General

  1. You play Tahm Kench as 'Mage' with Hail of Blades!
  2. You build AP items.
  3. And you auto attack!
  4. Some of your abilities scale with AP.

Champion

  1. Proc An Acquired Taste (Passive) as soon as possible with auto attacks, use Devour (R) and spit them out for max damage!
  2. Hail of Blades and bunch of attack speed helps you proc your passive faster.
  3. An Acquired Taste (Passive), Abyssal Dive (W) and Devour (R) deal really good damage.

How to play

Items

  1. Playing Nashor's Tooth Tahm Kench build, your first item depends on the situation. You can rush either Nashoor's Tooth or Lich Bane.
  2. Adapt to an enemy team. Are they full of tanks, and they rush tons of Magic Resist? You rush Void Staff as #2 or #3 item to counter MR stacking. Their team has champs with lots of healing? Rush Oblivion Orb as #2 item (upgrade to Morellonomicon as 4th or 5th item).

Gameplay

  1. This build relies on auto attacking, so do it as well as use your abilities.
  2. Before going in, wait for your Hail of Blades to be up.
  3. Somebody is going after you each fight? Always getting ulted by enemy assassins? Rush Zhonya's Hourglass.

Tips and Tricks

Abyssal Dive (W)

  1. Want to hit Abyssal Dive (W)? Face the other direction to mislead the enemy. They won't expect you using W on them.
  2. You can cancel your Abyssal Dive (W) with Flash in case of emergency.
  3. Hit Tongue Lash (Q) for slow or for stun first, then use Abyssal Dive (W) right away for certain hit.

Thick Skin (E)

  1. If you know you will get alive, don't use Thick Skin (E). Let it heal you instead.

Devour (R)

  1. Just ate enemy player? Don't spit him out immediately. Wait for your cooldown, your allies and their cooldowns as well. Ping them if needed.

Tahm Kench Combos

  1. Combo #1: Tongue Lash (Q) + Devour (R) combo. If you have three stacks of your An Acquired Taste (Passive) on your target, you can eat them from a distance. During Tongue Lash (Q) animation use Devour (R).

Build

  1. You can farm minions very well with your Tongue Lash (Q). Low cooldown and big damage. Get these siege minions!
  2. You can Tongue Lash (Q) + two autos + Tongue Lash (Q) + Devour (R) them from the distance.

Riot

  1. Your most important function as a support is to keep fragile allies safe. Keep Devour's range and cooldown in mind and position accordingly!
  2. Consider carefully when to use Thick Skin's active. Sometimes shielding early to avoid further damage is good, but sometimes the healing is more beneficial.
