TLDR

Tank Viktor Runes

Optional Summoner Spells
Mark
Mark (Snowball) for a go-in tool if you want to be more aggressive and make picks.
Exhaust
Defensive option. Exhaust for peeling against enemy divers and assassins and protecting your carries.
Ignite
Offensive option if you are feeling spicy. Grievous Wounds + some damage. Good in early fights and you can score some kills, but reduces your going-in potential. Especially later.
Optional Runes
Presence of Mind
Triumph is better overall (heal + gold), but if you want to have easier time with your mana, go Presence of Mind.
Demolish
If you are into taking objectives, you can consider taking Demolish rune. Usually it is worth it and lets you push turrets quicker. Utility slash team oriented option.
How it works
- You play as a Tank.
- Your job is to soak damage, disrupt fights, protect your team, and be a pain in the neck for the enemy.
Playstyle
Be the frontline. Soak damage, disrupt enemies, protect your carries.
Jak'Sho rewards you for staying in fights.
Adapt your items to counter the enemy team.
How to play
Tank Viktor
- Your play pattern is going to be Siphon Power (Q), auto attack and kite in between. Your Q works nicely with Shield Bash (damage buff), Grasp of the Undying and other items.
- Evolve order: Q > W > E
- Evolve Siphon Power (Q) first. Gravity Field (W) second. Hextech Ray (E) third.
- How is this build different to Heartsteel version? You build more tanky and less damage. You spend more time in melee (so against bruisers, tanks and so on).
- Your play pattern is going to be Q, auto attack and kite in between. Your Q works nicely with Shield Bash (damage buff) and Grasp of the Undying.
Getting started
- Start with Guardian's Horn. Rush #1 Armor item if enemy is heavy on AD, or MR item if heavy on AP. Get Jak'Sho as #2.
- You will be more tanky later on, so play more carefully in the early game.
- Guardian's Horn is a surprisingly good item for its price. You can keep it for very long time (or even have it as 6th item).
During fights
- Your goal is to be in the middle of fights as long as possible - Jak'Sho stacks up with combat seconds.
Adapting
- You need to adapt your items to the game. Enemy team heavy on AP? Buy MR. They heavy on AD? Buy Armor. You need some damage? Well buy that.
- You can use Bandlepipes to give your whole team an attack speed boost whenever you CC enemies. Great synergy with auto attackers.
Runes
- Triumph is better overall (heal + gold), but if you want to have easier time with your mana, go Presence of Mind.
- Remember to consume your Grasp of the Undying procs!
Tips and Tricks
Champion
- You can scout bushes with your Hextech Ray (E).
- You can stop an enemy team from pushing your turrets with your Gravity Field (W). Everyone died, and the enemy tries to push? Just put W on minions' path.
- You can interrupt many powerful enemy cooldowns and ults with yours! Time Arcane Storm (R) well to stop enemy casts.
- You can peel from your allies by placing Gravity Field (W) beneath them.
- If your team CC, you can try chaining your Gravity Field (W) with them for maximized effect.
- Chasing someone? Use evolved Siphon Power (Q) for movement speed buff!
Riot
- Hextech Ray is a powerful poke and a strong area of denial tool. Use it in combination with Gravity Field to control your enemy's position.
- Make sure you choose the right augment at the right time.
Skill Order
- Siphon Power
Q

W
- Hextech Ray
