How it works

General

  1. You rush Echoes of Helia.
  2. You play aggressively, getting Echoes of Helia stacks and spending them as soon as you can.
  3. You don't even need Support abilities. You can proc this item consistently with Guardian and Font of Life rune, Heal summoner spell and items.
  4. You adapt to your team's needs: more support, more damage or even more tank.

Playstyle

  1. ⚔️ Play aggressively, deal damage and poke to stack Echoes of Helia.
  2. 💥 Trigger Helia as often as possible with abilities, runes, summoners and items.
  3. 🛡️ Support allies while dealing damage to enemies.

How to play

General

  1. Get Echoes of Helia #1. Then you need to adapt in the game to your team and to the enemy team.
  2. Usual item order: Echoes of Helia -> Moonstone Renewer -> Redemption -> Locket of the Iron Solari then adapt.
  3. Counter enemy team, go more support or go more damage. You can even build some tank items if needed.

Adaptation

  1. Your team needs to engage or position? Get items like Shurelya's Battlesong or Trailblazer.
  2. Your team getting poked to death? Consider getting Redemption AND/OR Locket of the Iron Solari next.
  3. If you are just getting poked and cannot manage to stay alive - get Kaenic Rookern or Warmog's Armor (caution: needs enough HP!)
  4. You have tanks, bruisers and your team lack damage? As a last resort, you can buy few items to even help with that!
  5. Remember to counter an enemy team. For example, if they have lots of healing, get Executioner's Calling early.

Champion

  1. Zed Contempt for the Weak (Passive) has brutal damage, without building single damage item. It deals maximum health as bonus magic damage. That means even building as Helia, you still pack some punch.

Disrupting

  1. You can sow chaos in the fights, pretending that you are going all in on enemy carry, going back and forth between shadows, getting focus and disrupting fights. And then getting out with Death Mark (R).

Damage

  1. Death Mark (R) is cooldown that people need to react to. If you are left unattended and just keep hitting freely, even as support you are going to hurt.

Perception of Threat

  1. People see Zed as a threat, and they want to kill him. That's their muscle memory. Use that for your advantage. This will draw aggro away from your real carries.

Tips and Tricks

Riot

  1. Saving energy and spell cooldowns until you use your ultimate will maximize Death Mark's damage.
  2. Quickly double tapping Living Shadow will teleport Zed to his shadow immediately for rapid escapes.
  3. Placing a Living Shadow before using Death Mark can give Zed a safe escape from combat.
