AP Sivir vs AD Sivir

AP Sivir vs AD Sivir
Author: Wrekah

Sivir’s one of those champs you can build in a bunch of different ways—AD, Lethality, even AP if you're feeling spicy. But which one’s actually worth going for? Is there a best choice? In this guide, we’ll break down the main builds, look at what each one does well (and where it falls flat), and help you decide which setup to run based on the game.

Let’s get into it.

Ability Scaling

  1. Boomerang Blade (Q) – Scales with both AP (60% per pass) and bonus AD (100% per pass). Also benefits from Crit. It deals physical damage. Max total damage: 120% AP + 200% Bonus AD, plus 50% more if it crits.

  2. Spell Shield (E) – Heals Sivir when it blocks an ability. The heal scales with both % Total AD and % AP.

Builds Compared

Note: These are rough comparisons—just item stats without runes, buffs, or in-game context. Still, it gives a general idea of damage potential.

Boomerang Blade (Q) Damage Comparison

Build AP Bonus AD Crit Lethality Armor Pen Luden Proc Storm Proc Max Q Dmg
Full AP 695.5 0 0 0 0 219.55 194.55 1568.7
AP + The Collector 559 50 25% 10 0 205.9 180.9 1613.95
AP + LRD 559 35 25% 0 40 205.9 180.9 1580.2
AP + Collector + LRD 416 85 50% 10 40 191.6 166.6 1594.7
ADC 0 285 100% 10 40 1335
Lethality 0 265 25% 64 35 956.25
Lethality + Muramana 0 284 25% 46 35 999
Lethality + LRD 0 255 50% 64 40 1037.5
Lethality + LRD + Muramana 0 274 50% 46 40 1085

TL;DR:

  • AP builds offer the highest raw Q damage.
  • A lot of that damage comes from item procs (Luden's + Stormsurge), so if you can’t reliably trigger those (e.g. vs tanks or during cooldown), your burst drops a bit.
  • Even without procs, AP builds still look strong for poke.
  • The Collector + LRD variant seems to offer the best all-around damage from Q.
  • Reminder: Q does physical damage, but Luden's/Stormsurge deal magic—so your total damage output can get reduced against high armor/magic resist targets.

Spell Shield (E) Healing Comparison

Build Base AD AP Bonus AD E Heal
Full AP 102.5 695.5 0 429.75
AP + LRD 102.5 559 35 389.5
AP + LRD + Collector 102.5 442 85 371
ADC 102.5 0 285 310
Lethality 102.5 0 265 294
Lethality + Muramana 102.5 0 284 309.2
Lethality + LRD 102.5 0 255 286
Lethality + LRD + Muramana 102.5 0 274 301.2

Final Thoughts – When to Go AP, AD, or Lethality?

  • AP Sivir – Best for poking and big Qs. Also gives strong E healing.

    • The combo of The Collector + Lord Dominik's gives the most reliable burst.
    • If the enemy team isn't building armor, feel free to go Full AP and blast away.
  • AD Sivir – Go this route if you want strong autos and consistent DPS.

  • Lethality Sivir – Ideal against squishies or low-armor comps.

    • Interesting note: Lethality + LRD + Muramana does the most damage on paper.
    • And LDR > Serylda's Grudge for max Q damage.

At the end of the day, it depends on your playstyle and the enemy comp. Look at their armor, how long you expect the game to go, and what your team needs before locking in your build.

Good luck and have fun on the Bridge. May your boomerangs always hit both ways. 🏹
