TLDR

Helia Bard Runes

Optional Summoner Spells
Exhaust
Solid choice in most of the games. Helps against assassins, divers and melee overall. It also lowers your healing output as you do not take Heal. Solid choice overall.
Ignite
Offensive option, improves your damage, gives you additional cooldown to use in fights, but reduces your healing output.
Ghost
Improves mobility. You can chase, position and flee better. Reduces your healing output, but makes you more agile in fights.
How it works
- You rush Echoes of Helia.
- You play aggressively, getting Echoes of Helia stacks and spending them as soon as you can.
- You can proc this item consistently with Guardian and Font of Life rune, Heal summoner spell, items and abilities.
- You adapt to your team's needs: more support, more damage or even more tank.
Playstyle
Play aggressively, deal damage and poke to stack Echoes of Helia.
Trigger Helia as often as possible with abilities, runes, summoners and items.
Support allies while dealing damage to enemies.
How to play
- This is an off-meta and very fun build that works on ANY champion with mana - even those without healing or shielding abilities! All thanks to Diadem of Songs + Echoes of Helia combo.
- With Diadem of Songs + Echoes of Helia combo, you can continuously heal your team with high healing output.
- Play aggresively, stack Echoes of Helia and heal!
Items
- Start with Tear of the Goddess and try stacking it ASAP. Get Echoes of Helia #1, then Diadem of Songs #2. Then you adapt in the game to your team and to the enemy team.
- Usual item order: Echoes of Helia -> Moonstone Renewer -> Redemption -> Locket of the Iron Solari then adapt.
- Counter enemy team, go more support or go more damage. You can even build some tank items if needed.
Buffing your team
- Ardent Censer is worth it if you have auto attackers on your team (ADCs, auto-attack bruisers). It will trigger often enough to be good buy.
- Bandlepipes is a good new item that gives MS and buffs your allies Attack Speed when you slow/immobilize enemies. Good for your auto attackers.
- Staff of Flowing Water is great if you have AP champions on your team. You'll be proccing it frequently with your support abilities.
Adaptation
- Your team needs to engage or position? Get items like Shurelya's Battlesong or Trailblazer.
- Your team getting poked to death? Consider getting Redemption AND/OR Locket of the Iron Solari next.
- If you are just getting poked and cannot manage to stay alive - get Kaenic Rookern or Warmog's Armor (caution: needs enough HP!)
- You have tanks, bruisers and your team lack damage? As a last resort, you can buy few items to even help with that!
- Remember to counter an enemy team. For example, if they have lots of healing, get Oblivion Orb early.
Tips and Tricks
Champion
Traveler's Call (Passive)
- Collecting chimes is essential. It improves your damage and Traveler's Call (Passive) effects, gives mana and movement speed. Do it!
- Low on mana? Collect some chimes.
Caretaker's Shrine (W)
- Use your Caretaker's Shrine (W). Put it somewhere behind your team, so they can use it when needed and enemy can't destroy it. Let it charge for increased Healing.
- You can have 3 Caretaker's Shrine (W) at the same time. You can leave 2 W behind your team for healing.
Magical Journey (E)
- Magical Journey (E) is an interesting tool that you can use in ARAM. You can aggressively E into an enemy team or play mind games with them.
Tempered Fate (R)
- You have great engaging tool with your Tempered Fate (R). Play with your team and do not wait for 'special moment'. You can land great R, catching people off and making engagements possible.
- Identify the best targets for your Ultimate. Is there an enemy who lacks mobility? That's a good target. Sometimes you can use it for disrupting fights. Or for protecting your allies. Be mindful!
Build
Redemption
- Tempered Fate (R) and Redemption both last 2.5s, letting Redemption land exactly as stasis ends for guaranteed heal or damage.
- Cast Redemption instantly after confirming that Tempered Fate (R) hit (projectile travel time varies). This combo effectively removes Redemption cast time, enabling clutch heals or finishing damage
- Redemption long range lets Bard contribute from far away, even while roaming or dead.
Riot
- It's important to collect chimes to improve your meep's attacks, but don't neglect your lane partner! Try to make a big entrance by bringing an ally into the lane with you with Magical Journey.
- Let your Caretaker's Shrines charge up - they heal for a lot more when at full power.
- Don't forget that enemies can also use your Magical Journey doorways, and that your ultimate can also hit your allies!
